Our Mission
Hi, my name is Tara Hegde and I started Hand to Hearts. This project grew from a simple idea — to bring comfort and kindness to cancer patients during a time when they need it most. I wanted to create something that reminded people they’re cared for, even by those they’ve never met. Every package we put together includes soft, hospital-safe essentials and handwritten notes meant to offer warmth and hope.
What began as a small effort has become a community of volunteers who give their time and hearts to help others. Together, we’re turning compassion into something tangible — a reminder that care can come from anywhere.
I’m a high school student from Illinois, deeply inspired by the strength of those facing cancer and the kindness of people who want to make a difference. My goal is to keep spreading comfort and connection, one package at a time.
